My name is Raul, and I am a web and mobile developer with a deep passion for design and creativity. My journey into software development began in the summer of 2021, driven by curiosity about coding and the tech industry. I started with instructional YouTube videos, enrolled in Mosh Hamedani’s program, and eventually signed up for Nucamp’s Introduction to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. From the moment I began coding, I knew this would be a transformative path for both me and my family. That realization inspired me to take the next step by enrolling in Nucamp’s Full Stack Web and Mobile Development Bootcamp.

In the spring of 2022, I temporarily paused my software development journey as my family and I moved to New Mexico, where I continued my career in education. We embraced the beauty of the mountains, outdoor adventures, and the dry climate, but life eventually brought us back to Houston to be closer to family. Upon our return, I reignited my passion for software development and began the Software Engineering program through SMU/Flatiron School in November 2024, which I am on track to complete in August 2025. Additionally, I have been expanding my front-end development skills through Scrimba’s Front-End Developer Career Path.

I’ve been married to my incredible wife Kaitlin for 12 wonderful years, and together we have three amazing children. Over the course of 12 years as a band director, I discovered a love for teaching, mentoring, and creativity. My time in education, combined with the connections and relationships I’ve built in the music community, helped me realize that software development is where my true passion lies. I’m excited to channel my skills and experiences into this new chapter, creating impactful solutions through technology.
